Welcome

Welcome to oadaeh.net.

I am using this website for the Web application programming and the website installation, setup, configuration, administration & maintenance aspects of my business. This primarily includes news & information dissemination of Drupal and Drupal related topics and sometimes the testing of Drupal software and solutions (but it's not necessarily limited to just those aspects).

I haven't done a lot here lately (as evidenced by the most recent story), but I plan in changing that and to start making this place a little more lively.

Thanks for checking this website out. Feel free to contact me with any comments and/or suggestions you may have.

LVDUG Logo

So I got this wild hair that I would create a logo for the Las Vegas Drupal Users Group. What I thought would be cool was to take an image of a full house poker hand with 2 kings over 3 aces and two spades in the set, and replace the spades with Druplicon. I'm not a graphics artist, so creating something out of scratch is just not within the realm of possibility. I wasn't able to find exactly what I wanted, but I found a few images that were acceptable, picked the best ones and modified them. What I really wanted to do was to make a subtle change to the cards that one would have to pay attention to to notice. The ace isn't exactly subtle, but it's what I had to work with.

Must Have Modules

I was listening to one of the Lullabot podcasts last week (I don't remember which one), and there was a mention of a list of must have modules that get installed on every site. These aren't necessarily the big hitters like CCK and Views, but more of the little things that just make the sites better. I thought I would start a list here for my future references of the modules I usually install on a site.

Starting Over... Again

Well, I seem to have totally destroyed this site through some weird fluke (and lack of understanding) of CVS. I had set it up using Ted Serbinski's CVS Quick Reference. If done right, it makes it so much easier to setup a Drupal site and to keep it updated. Well, something weird started happening with oadaeh.net when I did my updates. For no reason that I could find, it started downloading HEAD (instead of the 4.7 it was initially setup with) and every contributed module and theme available. I have other sites setup using the same exact methodology, same code, same commands, same everything -- except the download everything possible madness.
